Anna's Blessing

We packed up and headed to California for Anna's baby blessing. We had wanted to bless her back home, but no one was able to come out. So we went to them! It was especially wonderful because my grandfather was able to participate along with our brothers-in-law. My beautiful Auntie Dell was also able to make it down for the blessing. How grateful we are to be surrounded by such loving family!
When I was first married, I had told myself that I wanted to make my my daughters' blessing dresses. The reason being was that I wanted to incorporate my wedding dress into their blessing dresses. And I did just that. About a week before we left to go to California, I gathered my supplies and began working. Leave it to me to wait til the last minute to start making something! Good thing I had a 7 hour car ride to sew on the beading...literally finishing the last of it as we pulled up the driveway. The beading is the same beading used on my wedding dress. I had also made a dress for Lucy using this beading. I am not a seamstress by any means! I don't know how many directions I skipped in the process. Which would probably explain why Annie's dress was somewhat falling apart by the end of church. Threads dangling all over just crying to be cut off. But I can at least say that I did it, right?! Her booties and headband are also handmade. My mom found them at the Quilted Bear in Salt Lake. I just embellished them a little.
In case you're wondering, I did not cut the beading off of my dress. I had some extra.
I'm not that crazy! :)
(And remind me to not get my bangs cut again...they tend to have a mind of their own!)

My Kidlets

There are days where I feel like I'm a mother duck and I've got my two little ducklings following behind me trying to keep up to me and the newest little duckling.
There are days where the most we can do is get to the park, wiggle our toes in the sand and go down the slide a few times.
There are days where we stay in our pj's all day, eat popsicles, and put together train sets.
Days of listening to books on tape. Days of painting. Days of side-walk chalk. Days of car rides. Days of bubbles.
But my favorite days of all are the ones spent snuggling on the couch, diving into stories of Peter Pan and the Berenstain Bears. Those days filled with tickling, giggling, and big ol' smooches!
These are days that I never want to forget. Where innocence and magic fill the air. Where our little family is our world and nothing but! To say I am blessed would be a big understatement.
Oh! How I love my little kidlets!

Got Her Ears Lowered!

For months I've been asking Lucy if she wants to get her hair cut and every time the response has something to do how she needs her hair to stay long like "Tangled". My counter argument usually entails how Rapunzel cut her hair at the end of the movie and she looked so pretty! "No!" she says, then runs away. Well, this particular Saturday I was able to convince her and she happily agreed! My almost four year old has never had a real haircut before and I think it was about time. That scraggly mess was just getting too long to brush and the squeals/screams/dramatics from me doing her hair were getting old. Fast.
I was actually this close to having her get a bob haircut, giving just enough length of hair to donate. But there was a certain someone (*cough* Alex) who would have had a little less than unhappy reaction. He loves the long locks on his ladies. :)
It's a perfect length for a perfect little lady. Definitely wont be waiting another four years until we cut it again. I can't imagine trying to tame that wild mane!
