Six Years

I play this day over and over again in my head. The flowers, the dresses, the music, the hugs, the laughter, the food, the dancing… it all seems like a dream. More like a fairytale.
The entire day was filled with the utmost feelings of love and joy, but most of all peace.
I just knew that Alex was the man for me.
And six years later I still know it.
Even six years later I have to pinch myself sometimes!
I’m still nuts about my high school crush!
We’ve had our struggles, but through them we’ve grown closer as a couple.
He still manages to sweep me off my feet.
I can’t help but feel I made the right choice
And I would make it a million times over again if I could.
We fit well together.
Like, perfect.

Happy Six Years to the love of my life!

"I Heard the News, Congrats!"

I don't remember how it came up, but I was telling Lucy that she has a sister named Mary in heaven. I should have known it would have caused confusion. Alex and I love the name Mary, and one day, doooown the road, we hope to have another daughter that we can name Mary. Lucy, of course, has now become extremely interested in "Mary"....talking about her, pretending to be her, naming dolls after her, ect.
Out of the blue I received a text from Lucy's preschool teacher saying, "I heard the news, congrats!" I knew instantly that Lucy had been blabbing about a "new baby sister". I replied back, "hahaha! no no no..." and went on to explain. Later that night, I had to drop the kids off at a friends house and when I came back to pick them up, my friend asked "Okay...can I ask you a question?" Before she could ask, I responded with "No, I'm not pregnant!"
You sure as heck can bet I sat Lucy down and clarified to her what I meant! Don't think it really got through to her though. Especially after having to clarify to two other people that I am NOT pregnant! Ha!

Lesson learned: Don't trust a four-year-old with a hypothetical situation.

I Spy With My Little Eye...

... a big three year old!
This little boy - whom I like to call my favorite little boy ever - has melted my heart, poured it into a heart-shaped-mold, sprinkled it with some love, watched it grow, squished it, loved it, hugged it, kissed it, then gave it back to me. I'm a big pile of mush when it comes to my Toddy!
Three current favorite things about Todd:
1. I love his imagination and watching him play with his toys. From shooting lasers, to fighting robots, to sleeping Star Wars characters. He makes his toys come alive!
2. He is getting better each day learning to communicate. My favorite is when he says "Dad...best friend!" I'll confirm what he says and repeat "Dad is your best friend?!" and he'll squeal "YEAH!" Oh how I wish I could demonstrate this for you. It's adorable and heart-wrenchingly cute!
3. His mind is always at work. He loves building and constructing things. He's so clever when it comes to attaching things together, or building spaceships, or making houses. He's got a creative, engineering brain.
I asked him to hold up three fingers for me. He did so but then started "shooting" me with his three fingers!
Squish that boy!!
Kiss him!!
For his birthday, he woke up to streamers and other decorations. We had a simple breakfast then opened some presents with daddy before he had to leave for school. I later took the kids to lunch at McDonald's where they could run around. Then we headed to the Children's Museum for the rest of the day. A perfect birthday spent for a happy little boy.
Happy Birthday Todd! We love you dearly!

Frederico Maternity Shoot

I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful couple as they await the arrival of their sweet baby boy (he's due any day now!). This was the first maternity shoot I've done. I was nervous and hesitant about doing it...I wasn't sure if I would be able to convey what I wanted to. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! It makes it easy when you have such awesome clients!
We became friends with the Frederico's shortly after we moved to Tucson and quickly found out that we had common friends back in Temecula...small world! Krista is probably the sweetest person you'll ever meet. She's been through a lot and has been waiting for this little baby to join their family for years. I couldn't be more thrilled for them!
Congrats you two!
