Monsoooon!

It's monsoon season here is the desert. When we first moved here two years ago, our landlord had casually mentioned "Monsoon Season" - as if we knew what it was, or that there was even such a thing! I remember Alex and I both kind of questioned/chuckled at the thought of it. I mean, when I think of "monsoon", I think of Jumanji when all of a sudden the home is overtaken by a lush tropical foliage and buckets of rain are pounding down on poor Robin Williams.

Ummm.....it's definitely monsoon-y here.
Minus the green, lush, tropical foliage.

One minute we're out in the back yard, enjoying the shade of our giant tree and swinging on the swings, and the next minute we've got thunder and lightening and a river in our front yard!
We'll usually sit and watch the rain from the window or the front porch, but this time Lucy wanted to go out and get wet. She found her rain jacket, dug out her slightly over-sized rain boots, and trudged out into the rain. She marched right out there with her palms reaching towards the sky, welcoming the rain as it fell all around her.

Todd tried to follow suit, but wearing only Buzz underwear wasn't going to cut it.
